Land and property assets are key to both the delivery of the Council’s services as well as its broader ambitions in areas such as employment, housing and infrastructure development.

As Head of Strategic Land and Property you will assume accountability for a wide and high profile remit which spans leading the delivery of major land and property developments, and driving forward an extensive capital development programme that includes UK Central, linked to HS2, town centre redevelopment and the on-going redevelopment of North Solihull. Your role will be to support new job creation and business investment by delivering our strategic place making priorities ensuring that we gain maximum customer and economic value out of our land and property holdings and interests.

Delivery of major capital and regeneration projects and the commercialisation of a mixed property portfolio will be key areas of focus for you. We are therefore looking for an innovative and commercially focused property expert to lead the service and deliver a substantial property development and investment programme.  Local government experience is not essential, and indeed candidates with a mix of senior experience across public and/or private sectors would be viewed positively.

This is a key role and the Council is looking for the right individual equipped with the necessary enthusiasm, experience, creativity and leadership skills to continue with the development of this service and to ensure that Solihull has the approach and resources required for the future.
